EDMONTON ESKIMOS
IN THE HALL OF FAME

WILKINSON, TOM (Elected as a Player, May 2, 1987.)

A three-time CFL All-Star through 15 seasons, he never missed a game in his 10

years with Edmonton, which included five wins in eight Grey Cup Games.

When injuries sidelined Bruce Lemmerman early in 1972, "Wilkie" got his

chance.  He would remain the Eskimos' starting quarterback for the next eight

years, until a young kid named Warren Moon took over the helm of the mighty

Eskimos.

As Ray Turchansky of the Edmonton Journal put it, "Leading through example, and

a finely- honed sensitivity to those around him, he developed into the type of leader

that made average team-mates perform above average."
